"Fine and Sunny" Wall Art & Mini Album (Kaisercraft)

Hi Everyone

It's the last day of April so I thought I would share some projects I created for Kaisercraft using their April Collection - Fine and Sunny. To see the full Collections on Kaisercraft's website - click here. To see the products at amazon.com click here.
The Letter "C"
I created this for my daughter's room. It's fun and just a tiny bit girly - just like her!

Baby Mini Album
I wish I had some photos of the inside of this album but I sent it off in such a rush that I didn't get a chance to take any!

Treat Containers
These little treat containers are a great way to use up scraps. I have a full tutorial on my blog here.

This really is a fun collection - and tomorrow I have a couple to share using the other April Collection - Charlotte's Dream.

Please post a comment with any questions - Lowri :-)

Treasured Memory Book and Echo Park Winner

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post today to share a couple of pictures of this book and to announce the winner of last week's Echo Park "Note to Self" blog hop.

Memory Book
Last year, a wonderful young man we knew sadly died after a very brave battle with cancer. I wanted to create a special book where people could share their favorite memories of him. DEFINITELY a Memory Book - not a Memorial Book.

I printed out all the messages posted to a Facebook site created for his friends to share their favorite memories. I was also given some additional photos, a favorite song-list and other very personal memory items I also added in

I also left plenty of blank pages at the memorial service that people could take away and complete, along with an address for returning so I could add them to the book. Many people also shared their favorite memory in the book on the day of the service.

To create the book itself I used A5 white paper pads from the dollar store and punched holes in the pages using a cardboard template I made from one of the pad covers as a guide.  I used the 7Gypsies rubber binding rings to bind the book as they offer plenty of room to add more pages.

I kept the front page decoration simple with some Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 Chipboard, some Thickers and a couple of older rubons I found in my stash. I was very pleased to be able to contribute in some small part to making sure Jeremy's wonderful legacy is always remembered.

Delicious Paper Strawberries! (Echo Park)

Hi Everyone

I have this post up on the Echo Park Blog today. These paper fruits are perfect for hiding sweeties inside, or you could make a bowlful for some colorful Spring decoration.

They are simple to make and I have made them using both a paper template and an electronic die-cutting machine - the only difference is that with the machine they are quicker to cut out!

There are a few patterns available online – try this one here which you can print onto plain cardstock for a template or if you have an electronic die-cutter – you can purchase the cutting file here.  With either method it is easy to shrink or enlarge to create the size strawberries you want. I tucked some treats inside before using strong paper threaded through all the holes in the petals to close. Don't worry about how it looks as you are going to be covering the top with the leaves of the strawberry.

These fabulous papers from the This and That Graceful Collection were perfect for this project and I used the Kiwi green paper (kind of appropriate for me living in New Zealand!) from the Dots and Stripes Soda Fountain for the leafy tops. A This and That Graceful Brad added the final touch to the colorful Strawberries.

The decorative box was created from the Yardsticks paper and this file, but you could easily use a plain box or straw basket.

"Note to Self" Note-Holders (Echo Park)

Please note that the Blog Hop and competitions previously detailed on this post have now closed. You can see who won the Echo Park giveaways on their blog here. You can see who won my giveaway here. I encourage you to visit all the fabulous blogs that were on the hop - there is a list at the end of this post!

These note holders are perfect for leaving a "Note to Self"!

I created them using one of the FABULOUS files from Patricia at A Little Hut. I just bought a Silhouette Cameo and this was my first project. Patricia even has videos available to show you how to put your project together - perfect for a Cameo novice like me.

I made one for my husband and then I liked it so much I made one for myself too. These stickers from the Alpha Stickers sheet I used for the note dividers are my most favorite Echo Park stickers ever. I used the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to attach them to some blank index cards.

I had been hoarding these days of the week stickers from the This and That Sticker Sheet. The ones you can see are backed with other days of the week on the other side so I can turn them around and leave notes or messages on those days too!

Here is a list of blogs that were on the hop!

Baby Book Ideas (Crate Paper)

Hi Everyone

I first showed this book last year, but instead of sending it to my sister to complete - I filled it in for her -  knowing only too well that time can be pretty short when you have a new baby in the house!

Sorry I can't show you any detailed pictures of the inside - but I hope you understand it's not my baby to share!

I used a Maya Road 5x7 tabbed book as a base and the Crate Paper Little Sprout and Lillian Collections to decorate. I have used Cosmo Cricket's Tiny Type Number Stickers for the tabs - and I have to say they are the first transparent stickers I have used which virtually disappear on the paper - FABULOUS!

These collections are a couple of years old and I picked them us super cheap - but the patterns are timeless and absolutely gorgeous.

Please email me with any questions or comments.

DIY Acetate Sheets! (Echo Park This & That)

Hi Everyone

I am a little bit excited about this post today! I tried this technique and it worked like a dream first time - and as anyone who crafts even just a little bit will tell you - that doesn't happen very often!

I have used some digital files and printable transparencies to create my own acetate sheets to co-ordinate with the Echo Park This & That Charming Collection.

This and That Charming Mini Cards

These cards were created using mainly the 6x6 paper pad, chipboard, and the Primer and Yardsticks papers.

Once I had the transparencies printed they were easy to cut with my trimmer and really become the feature of these very simple cards. The buttons from the chipboard set are a great little accent and I cut words using Spellbinders from the Primer paper.

Create Your Own Custom Overlays

Overlays/transparencies are pretty hot in the scrapbooking world, but it's really easy to make your own - and with awesome companies like Echo Park and Pink Paislee releasing digital versions of their products - it's easy too.

For these shown below I used graphics from the This and That Charming Element Packs One and Two.

All you need to do is use ANY graphics program to create a page using the digital images and print using your home printer.

If you are under 30 you might well have no clue what OHP transparencies are - but they are basically acetate sheets that you printed your presentations onto to show on an overhead projector - in the olden days before laptops were invented! Try looking for them in the bargain bin in your stationary store - though most will still have them for sale individually too.

Fine & Sunny Drawers / Kaisercraft Winner

Hi Everyone

I recently created this set of drawers using the Kaisercraft Fine and Sunny Collection - it was even on display at CHA earlier in the year which made me pretty pleased!

At the end of this post I have also announced the winner of my recent Kaisercraft Giveaway.

Fine and Sunny Mini Drawers

To make these I sanded then painted all the pieces before assembling using a strong wood-glue. Each drawer is decorated with paper from the collection and some resin blooms. The sides of the drawers are decorated using the stickers and chipboard.

These mini drawers are really easy to put together. Kaisercraft seem to have really ironed out any technical problems they had in the past which meant you had to file some pieces to fit - these fit like a glove!

Kaisercraft Giveaway
Now to announce the winner of my recent Kaisercraft Technologic Giveaway. The randomly picked winner is Ruth G from Winfield, IL who left the 128th comment.

Congratulations Ruth - please email me here so I can arrange to send your prize.

I had over 200 entries to this giveaway and I would like to thank each and every person for commenting and following. The GOOD news is that later in the month I will be having another one - so stay tuned for details on that too!
