Everyday Eclectic Mini Album (Echo Park)

Hi Everyone Please note that the Blog Hop and competitions previously detailed on this post have now closed. You can see who won the Echo Park giveaway on their blog here. You can see who won my giveaway here. I encourage you to visit all the fabulous blogs that were on the hop – there is a list at the end of this post! Everyday Mini Album This mini album was really fun to make. It uses pages from the journaling cards paper as its base, and the design of the elements is so great – most of the work is done for you!   Like my previous File Folder Album using this collection, the photos in the album were all taken by my husband on his phone on a dull and rainy day. The photos are never going to win any photography prizes – but they capture the fun of the day perfectly and I wouldn’t have it any other way! The photos are never going to win any photography prizes – but they capture the fun of the day perfectly and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I have cropped the photos heavily and added a retro […]

Folder Mini Album w/ Everyday Eclectic (Echo Park)

Hi Everyone I have this project on the Echo Park Paper blog today – and I have been waiting impatiently to share this one!  This little album is a great slimline alternative to a traditional mini album, is much smaller than a layout and you can display it like a card! To form the cover I cut a rectangle shape measuring 10” x 12”’ from 2 pieces of paper and secured them together with lots of double sided adhesive tape. This gives the album a sturdy structure – not to mention you can choose what paper you want on the inside too. I then folded this in half to give a 5” x 6” cover. I decorated the front with an inked chipboard balloon, carefully backed with an acetate print to give it more dimension. The “Notes” clip I made from chipboard and it has a magnet on each surface inside – these Basic Grey magnetic snapsare super slim and super strong! The folder opens out like a card and has both journaling and photo features. As always – the fabulous selection of Echo Park stickers make decoration a breeze! This collection was so “on-trend” that I had heaps of […]

Travel Album & Card (Ruby Rock-It Day One)

Hi Everyone I am Guest Designing today for the Ruby Rock-It blog and I am using the fabulous Vintedge Collection. I am from the UK so I was really keen to work with these fabulous prints! Here are the first of my projects I shared and I have more to come over the weekend. Travel Album This blank chipboard album from Maya Road was the perfect base for this fun, blank travel album. The pages are all ready embellished ready for the recipient to just add their own photos. I covered all the pages with the paper, and added embellishments making it a really simple project for a non-crafter to complete. Where an embellishment overlaps the photo area – I was careful to only put adhesive outside that area to make sure photos can easily be slid underneath. Love Card This double sided heart paper was a real treat to find in this collection. I have created a simple tri-fold card (you can see a template on my blog here) and embellished it using elements from the collection. For the 3-d heart I die cut a heard from several layers of adhesive chipboard and wrapped some of the paper twine […]

Hello Summer Hybrid Album (Echo Park)

Hi Everyone  Today I am sharing a “hybrid” mini-album I created using both the paper and digital Hello Summer Collections from Echo Park Paper.  To create the album pages I used a metal die to cut a “sandwich” of thin card (I used cereal boxes) double sided adhesive paper and patterned paper. Simply use the double sided adhesive to attach the paper to the card and run through your manual cutting machine.  If you do not have a machine, just use the same method to cut rectangles with your paper trimmer. Cut another single layer of paper with the same die and glue to the back so you have a double sided album page with both sides covered in paper. I then punched holes and used twine for binding. There are a few ways I like to incorporate the digital elements into projects like this. Once you have downloaded the digital files, you can easily print and cut out elements of the collection. I really liked this orange sentiment sticker below, and it’s easy to enlarge any of the elements to make them great page embellishments. I tend to print the elements onto photo paper to give them a look […]

Everyday Moments Projects – Teresa Collins

Hi Everyone Yesterday I had a post on the Teresa Collins blog as part of a blog swap with Artfull Crafts. My DT colleague and amazing papercrafter Sandy Ang also had some fabulous cards featured. Journal Album The colors in this Everyday Moments collection are fabulous and the papers are very versatile. I have created this blank journal album using a combination of plain white cardstock and papers from the collection.  The bright colors really stand out against the plain card and each page has some journaling prompts for the recipient to start writing.  I have bound the book cover with an eyelet and bakers twine which wraps around a brad to keep the book closed. Card and Matching Envelope The base of this card was cut using my Cameo and this file, and I have kept the additional decoration quite simple. To create the bird I brushed some white ink over the wooden piece and then stamped over the top with a clock-face stamp. The stamp and acetate clock face were both from Kaisercraft’s last Halloween Collection! The matching envelope was also die-cut using this file here, and I used two of the Everyday Moments Brads and some bakers […]

“This and That” Mini Album PLUS Tutorial (Echo Park)

Hi Everyone My first official Design Team Post is live at Echo Park – check it out here! For regular readers of my blog you will recognize this technique as one of my all-time favorites, but I have updated my tutorial and this fabulous new This and That Charming Collection really shows it off 🙂 I have used the latest This and That Charming Collection to create this simple mini with some recent photos of my family. I have a tutorial below showing how I created it and as you can see from the following picture, the weight of the Echo Park paper is perfect for this kind of technique as you can get a crisp fold without absolutely no paper cracking.  After I created the base, I then used strips from the Elements and Alpha stickers to decorate the tops and bottoms of my pages – don’t forget to use the negative pieces left over too, or you can cut the wider strips in half to stretch them further. The camera sticker looks great on the cover against the Chevron print of the Border Strips (reverse) paper and this fabulous Snapshots flag from the Elements Stickers. For each page […]
