Gift Wrapping Ideas (Ruby Rock-It Day Two)

Hi Everyone

Today I have some gift wrapping ideas using the Ruby Rock-It Vintedge Collection. You can see my other projects on my post here. This collection was a lot of fun to work with with it’s great London imagery and variety of embellishments

Gift Box

This folded paper box was created using the Flourish paper with a plain paper base. (I have a tutorial for making this on my blog here) I went to town with the embellishments – but the recipient can easily keep the box after cutting the twine to get into the gift!

Treat Bag

I made this as a fun little gift for my mother when she looks after my kids. It has some band-aids, panadol and a small bottle of vodka inside – just for emergencies!!

Embellishments

These little spools holding the twine were just too cute to ignore. I wrapped some paper round them and I know I will find a use for them sometime! The paper in the collection pack was perfect for folding too – so I made a few flowers – they always come in handy for decoration too – see my full tutorial on how to make them here.

Hope you have enjoyed these – please leave a comment or email me with any questions

did you know that the saying Keep Calm and carry on has been trademarked and people are getting sued for using it? Stampin Up had to remove their stamp in the current catalog because of that trademark- some guy in Australia did it and is causing quite a mess!

Hi Gwen – I have read about that – however this element was cut from one of the Ruby Rock-It papers as opposed to being printed by me – so I will let them worry about it! I do take Copyright infringement very seriously as you can see here – http://www.papervinenz.com/p/copyright.html but it would also apprear that the attempt to TM the phrase was not sucessful in the UK (where it originated during WW2)and the issue is being hotly contested at present!

Well I will be darned Gwen, so we can take any quote and trade mark it. I came to tell you what lovely ideas you have above, that parcel is just wonderful, I love making nice wrappings for my presents, but this is really the best. Thanks. xx

Hey Lowri, I love your gift wrapping ideas, especially the gift box. Last week I tried to do gift wrapping without papers. I always enjoy posts that give me new ideas, thanks for inspiring!

Thanks for such a great alternative to the regular paper wasting wrapping. if the
has been trademarked then we would all have to pay a fee for saying it and that just isn't going to fly anywhere you live. The things people do to try and make a monetary gain never cease to amaze me. For Gwen I know you were trying to help and we all appreciate the help we can get. I think I would have to counter sue that person for taking away my right to say what I want (Freedom of Speech) and I sincerely hope someone puts a stop to this travesty. I would have to laugh and tell them "Keep Calm And Carry On") as I walked away. Back to the blog….I think you are doing a great job providing us with great ideas and I thank you for sharing your talent.

I don't think I would be able to open that beautiful box! It is a gift in itself. All of your projects are breathtaking, Lowri!
