I wanted to share this album I made “On the Go” on our holiday last year. Mu husband’s birthday falls at the end of April, which is often when we are able to take our family vacation. Last year was his 50th birthday and I wanted to make something special to celebrate our trip, and give it to him whilst we were still away.
In past years I have packed half a suitcase with supplies and projects I intend to finish (or even start!) but that has never been too successful! This time, I just packed my Selphy printer and a small folder of favorite supplies so I could print photos and create on the go.
How gorgeous are these stitched Pinkfresh Studio Frames – I loved them as soon as I saw them and thought they would be the perfect starting point for the album. I cut some blank cardstock pages from card I bought at the local newsagent store (I had forgotten to pack that!) and punched some holes in each page with a punch to create a super-simple album.
Using my portable printer to print off a favorite photo each day, I then went to town with the decoration – pretty much using the embellishments as they came out from the packets. I used a date stamp and mini ink pad to make a little date tag for each page. There was a really great variety of bits and pieces in the embellishments, and I was able to create a variety of pages from tropical beach scenes to downhill mountain biking.
I took some pressure off myself by reminding myself that this did not have to be a perfect work of art – it was just a fun keepsake reminder I could give on the last day of our vacation – which happened to be the big birthday! I was so pleased how this turned out, and really showed that you can make something fun with minimal supplies and tools available!
