Gorgeous Girl Frame Gift (Kaisercraft)

Hi Everyone The Giveaway previously listed here is now closed. You can see a summary here and winners will be announced on December 9, 2012   Gorgeous Girl Frame This frame was created for workshop I taught at Artfull Crafts earlier this year. I demonstrated a simple paint technique (see below) which can be used on any kind of wood surface. All supplies are from the Kasiercraft Save the Date Collection. Paint Technique I have used a simple paint technique that will work on any wooden base and with any combination of colors. I generally use 2 accent colors with white or cream on top. In this case I used green and mustard as my accent colors with a white coat on top. Apply your darkest accent color to the frame. It does not have to cover the frame completely, but wipe any paint that spills over the frame edge with a baby wipe.  When dry – apply your second accent color and let dry. Finally, apply your top color (white or cream) all over the frame – again, wiping any smudges over the edges.  When COMPLETELY dry – take a small piece of rough grit sandpaper and sand over the […]

Tree Gift Box and a Treat for the Dog (Echo Park)

Hi Everyone The Giveaway previously listed here is now closed. You can see a summary here and winners will be announced on December 9, 2012 Christmas Tree Treat Box Putting a small gift in a fancy box is always a great way to jazz it up – especially when you make a box that can be used as a decoration too. I have used the Happy Holidays Mini Theme from Echo Park and this file from the Silhouette Store. The lovely ribbon is from May Arts. To make the tree stand up, I just created little supports from bent scraps of paper – super simple! For the Dog I am considering not giving my dog anything for Christmas this year after she ATE one of my DT assignments filled with cookies – but truth be told I have already got one ready! This was also created with my Cameo using this file, an Echo Park shape to accompany Woof Mini Theme from Echo Park. Post a comment with any questions Lowri 🙂 I am linking up this post to these websites here.

One Collection, Two Cards (Echo Park)

Hi Everyone The Giveaway previously listed here is now closed. You can see a summary here and winners will be announced on December 9, 2012 “Deck The Halls” Card I created the “swing card” base using this Cameo file from Lori Whitlock, but it is easy to cut by hand too. Take a look at this great online template from Beate Johns. The green chevron print has a clean and modern style and the ultra simple decoration is all that is needed to make this card really striking. Hint –  Don’t be afraid to trim your stickers to fit your projects. Sometimes it’s nerve-wracking to do that – but de-sticky the backs with talc first and you can play around with the placement before re-gluing into your chosen position. Using foam dots to mount small elements helps add some extra dimension to your card. “Merry Christmas” Card This card has the same base created from the fabulous Ultra White Felt Carta Bella Cardstock.  If you are creating card bases with your Cameo – I have to say that this cardstock cuts like a dream! It’s very thick and textured so I was skeptical as to how it would work – but […]

Pop-Up Present Cards (Kaisercraft)

Hi Everyone The Giveaway previously listed here is now closed. You can see a summary here and winners will be announced on December 9, 2012 Christmas Cameo Cards Making creative card bases is a snap if you have a digital die cutting machine! To create this card I have used the file from Lori Whitlock found here in the Shilhouette Store and here on her website for those with other machines. I have used the Kaisercraft Merry and Bright Collection for the decoration with the addition of a little washi and a Kasiercraft flourish on the front.   Here I have another colorway with the same collection – the slightly unusual orange and green make for some subtle and elegant color combinations. Post a comment with any questions Lowri 🙂 I am linking up this post to these websites here.
