Hi Everyone I am showing this tutorial as Christmas is coming and this is a super simple way to jazz up plain jars for easy gifts. You can use any scraps of scrapbook paper and they look really neat when finished! You can see another example on my Neighbor gift post here. If you need to keep a good seal on the lid for your jars (for example if they contain perishable food) simply cut the paper a little smaller and then use a sticker or ribbon to hide the join without compromising the seal. (Take a look at the tutorial below and all will become clear!) Covered Lids Tutorial Cut a circle of paper (see Note* below for sizing information) Trace rim onto reverse of paper Make cuts as shown ¼” apart to centre line Using mod-podge, glue lid to paper Glue strips, one at a time overlapping as you go round Seal with 2 coats of mod podge all over Note* Cut circle to equal diameter of lid PLUS 2 x height of rim PLUS 1.5cm I would love for you to link back here if you give this a go and please post a comment with any […]

Hi Everyone I have another project using the Merry Medley Collection from Kaisercraft. This collection is so bright and fun – perfect for Christmas projects and decor here down under when the sun is shining and many people have never seen snow! I have used an 8×8 frame from Dusty Attic as a base and have used white ink to break up the stark wooden surface a little. I have then simply added some patterned paper to the background of each mini-frame and decorated the frames with the stickers from the Goodies sticker sheet. I have used rhinestones to accent and highlight various elements in the paper. These projects are super-quick to come together as the frame needs no preparation at all. Here is another frame I did with Bo Bunny Papers – this time I painted the frame but you can certainly leave it raw if you like. I made this frame as a prize for a lady who won a blog contest of mine and whose son was entering the marines. See the complete post here. Please post a comment if you have any questions. Lowri 🙂 I am linking up this project to these websites here.
Hi Everyone – I have my first Christmas Post to share today! I know it is early, but November is only days away and if you wanted to make an Advent Calendar – now would be a good time to start. I created this project as part of my month as Fresh Face Designer on the Echo Park blog. This fun project was a lot of work – but really worth it! The fabulous mix of colors in the collection make for a nostalgic feel and I am really excited about using this as a home for little treats during the Christmas countdown! Each drawer front is decorated with paper squares, stickers from the Element Stickers Sheet and a Brad. To create the centerpiece I have layered more stickers and made the little 3-d trees using symmetrical die-cuts I cut from the papers using Spellbinders. A chipboard “Merry Christmas” painted red completes the scene. I really wish you could see and touch this project in person – it was very hard to photograph and get a sense of dimension and I don’t feel the pictures do it justice! There are heaps of this type of project available now and a […]
Hi Everyone – OK, So I know it’s not Christmas for 6 months but it is the middle of winter here in New Zealand and I love this collection so much I wanted to share a couple of projects I made – again using both the digital and paper collection from Cosmo Cricket. Christmas Notebooks I had run out of some of these papers so I just printed my own with the digital collection and used the chipboard pieces to add detail to the front. Party Favours Here are some favours I made for last year – again – I have printed out the covers using the digital collection – very cheap and easy to do! Just to finish off my Cosmo Cricket week – here are a couple of my favorite past projects using their collections… Click on the caption underneath to go the relevant blog post for more details on the projects. Heaps of them have tutorials too. Hi Everyone. First off a big hello and thank-you to Liz and all her fantastic staff and customers who made me so welcome at the shop last weekend. I had so much fun and it was really great to meet so many of you. I have a couple of ideas this week – SO easy to do and heaps of fun for a party Wine Glass Markers Baubles Here I have used a cuttlebug die to cut paper, chipboard and acrylic and sandwiched them all together! I have used the Christmas Carnival Collection from Kaisercraft for both the paper and the buttons. Liz has these at a fantastic price at the moment too. A printed name label and a couple of rhinestones and these are completed in under an hour! Holly These really could not be simpler! This time I have used the Kaisercraft Tis the Season Chipboard Holly Leaves and added some red rhinestones and a painted chipboard letter. Circles I have used the packaging from the Imaginisce Cottage Christmas Stickers and cut 2 scalloped circles, used one of the Stickers to decorate the front and decorated with an eyelet for a neat finish. A few beads on the […]
Hi Everyone. This week, the Artfull Crafts Christmas Countdown is all about making Home Decorations. I will be showing more of my projects later in the week but I wanted to get this tutorial up at the same time I posted on the AC blog! I am not really a ruffley (is that a word?) person – but these flowers are everywhere right now so I thought I would seek out how to make them. There are heaps of tutorials that all looked a bit complicated, so I broke out the hot glue gun and got to work! I have made these examples using the Kaisercraft Be Merry Collection and the Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly Collection. Here are the Cosmo Cricket examples.. And last but not least – here is the tutorial. I would love to see what you come up with – and please let me know if you have any questions!
