Hi Everyone. It’s the end of the school holidays here and it has been a fun but COLD two weeks off. I have a fun tutorial to share today. I have seen several variations of this idea on-line but here is my version. I have used the Cosmo Cricket “Upcyle” Collection which is perfect with it’s bright colors and fun themes. I also decided I needed somewhere to put the magnets – so I made this fun board too! These magnets are so much fun to make and you really only need a few basic supplies. Now – I know you can probably buy these glass domes but I couldn’t find anywhere here in New Zealand to get them, so I have “upcycled” these ones from The Warehouse. Preparing the Glass Domes Buy some cheap magnets Carefully remove backing (definitely adults only) Scrape away most of the glue with a sharp craft knife Use a pot scourer to remove remaining glue Making the Magnets Cut or punch circles of paper slightly smaller than the flat side of the glass dome Apply Mod Podge to the surface of the paper you want visible through the magnet and glue onto flat side […]

Hi Everyone I am excited about this project as it was the first one in a while I did purely for fun and – I did it purely for me! It is my entry to the latest Cosmo Cricket Challenge and I am really pleased with how it has turned out. This challenge had a lot of requirements (in blue)and I think I have covered them all! Create your own ‘die-cut’ background: whether this is hand-cut, or die-cut with a machine, your background paper has to be a custom made background! I created this album from scratch using my Spellbinders Christmas Tree dies, double sided sticky chipboard and papers from Cosmo Cricket’s Social Club collection. Your layout must include 3 pictures, any size you wish I have incorporated 3 full page pictures (more about those later) and 3 smaller pictures (also cut with Spellbinders) into the album I want to see at least one paper punch/decorative scissor used Tad tricky this one – but I have have used my maple leaf punch to add some dimension and a splash of color to my pages You must include fabric of some sort on your page 😀 Fabric is always so fun to […]
Hi Everyone – OK, So I know it’s not Christmas for 6 months but it is the middle of winter here in New Zealand and I love this collection so much I wanted to share a couple of projects I made – again using both the digital and paper collection from Cosmo Cricket. Christmas Notebooks I had run out of some of these papers so I just printed my own with the digital collection and used the chipboard pieces to add detail to the front. Party Favours Here are some favours I made for last year – again – I have printed out the covers using the digital collection – very cheap and easy to do! Just to finish off my Cosmo Cricket week – here are a couple of my favorite past projects using their collections… Click on the caption underneath to go the relevant blog post for more details on the projects. Heaps of them have tutorials too. Hi Everyone – I am excited to share my projects today as they are a good example of how to combine digital and physical paper collections. Custom Table Linen Following on from Wednesdays custom t-shirts, I thought it would be fun to make some unique linen pieces for a special get-together. I simply picked up 4 plain napkins for $2 at the Warehouse, printed my design onto t-shirt transfer paper, busted out my iron again and voila – personal table linen! Invitation, Menu and Placecards These items were made using the Early Bird digital collection for the wording – which I then attached to an actual piece of patterned paper and decorated using chipboard pieces for dimension. I could have done it all digitally but I like combining the two for impact. Wine Glass Markers OK – so maybe you don’t need these for a dinner for 2 BUT these chipboard buttons make great wine glass markers. For your next party – how about gathering up all those chipboard pieces kicking around the bottom of your drawer and make some unique glass markers – saves on washing up too! Here are some more detailed pictures.. Hope you have enjoyed these […]
Hi Everyone I am really excited about this post today – I am still working on perfecting a technique for these but I can’t wait to share! I like to think of these as “Cosmo Cuties”…. Snorkel Collection Jack’s World Collection Boyfriend Collection Mr Campy Collection Earth Love Collection You can mix and match various elements from the collections Once again I have used the Cosmo Cricket Digital Collections available at jessicasprague.com for all of these and just printed them onto T-shirt transfers. I like to think of these as a work in progress – and I have a new appreciation for anyone who tries to photograph clothes – it’s really hard!! If you are are Cosmo Cricket fan (or a baby fan!!) you might like to check out these posts and tutorials for earlier in the year. I made a variety of unique items for my sister using the Paper and Digital “Earth Love” Collection from Cosmo Cricket More pictures and a tutorial on how to make these bookmarks here More pictures and information on making these digitally designed cards here More pictures and a tutorial on how to make this single sheet of paper album here You […]
Hi Everyone Today I am sharing a couple of fun and quick ideas altered ideas using Cosmo Cricket! Lights On! I found this light switch cover and thought it would be great to add a bit of interest for my boys’ room. I measured and cut a piece of paper for the background and then added a sticker and some chipboard embellishments. To add dimension to these awesome chipboard “Converse” shoes – I punched small holes for eyelets and threaded some string for laces! This “Boyfriend” range from Cosmo Cricket is also available digitally. Magnetic Memos I picked up these magnetic photo frames at a photo-shop clearance and they make great little gifts to give away. Just cut a square of paper to size and add a sticker, graphic or sentiment in the center.
