Wedding Frame (Pink Paislee) and WINNERS

Hi Everyone Today I am sharing a Wedding Celebration frame as well as announcing the winners (YES – TWO!) of my recent contest. Wedding Frame My sister had two weddings 5 months apart – both super casual and lots of fun! The 5 and 22 represent the dates of the two weddings. These letters represent their names. All the elements are from Pink Paislee – and even though the Nantucket Collection was beach themed, it has worked really well with the non-traditional wedding pieces I have shown in the last few days.  Here is a summary in case you missed them – each has a step-by-step tutorial too! Wedding Placecards Wedding Flowers Homemade Confetti Wedding Favors Contest Winners YEP – you read right!! I have decided to have TWO winners for my recent contest due to the absolutely overwhelming response I received! These lucky winners will receive a custom made “52 Reasons I Love You” Cards set as seen here. The first winner was picked completely at random and was comment number 62. This was Amy Flanagan. (I had 197 comments and this comment was the 62nd of those received) The second winner I picked myself. This person frequently comments […]

Wedding Tutorials Day 4 – Favors

Hi Everyone Today I have an idea for Wedding Favors. SO simple and easily adaptable to any theme. Please note that the contest previously detailed here has now closed. Winners can be seen here. Wedding Favors Your guests could either open these or keep them as a little memento of your day. I like to fill them with after dinner mints! These really are one of my favorite projects to make and I have a new and simplified tutorial to share today!  Cut paper into 3” x 4” rectangles (7.5cm x 10cm) You can get 12 of these from one sheet of scrapbook paper Place very strong double sided adhesive tape along the two long and one short sides. I used JEJE Extra Sticky Tape Remove the backing from the tape Form a cylinder, joining the 2 shorter sides together with the adhesive Press adhesive very firmly Pinch one end of the cylinder together. Press adhesive firmly and fill with little treats  Pinch other end of cylinder together at right angles to form this shape. Use a paper crimper or scoring tool to really seal edges Note – the papers are from the Nantucket Collection from Pink Paislee. I have […]

Wedding Tutorials Day 3 – Confetti

Hi Everyone Today I will show you how to make the Confetti Bags I created for my sister’s wedding – SO EASY!! Confetti Bags Your guests can either use these to shower you with love or keep them as a little memento of your day. Note – the punch I used was the Fiskars Butterfly Punch and the papers are from the Nantucket Collection from Pink Paislee   These are super simple to make with scraps of paper and dollar-store baking paper and organza bags! Gather up any paper scraps you would like to use and using a decorative punch, create lots of colorful shapes Using cheap baking paper and the same punch, create lots more shapes. Eight layers of paper at a time was perfect with this punch but you might need to experiment Gather them together in a pleasing ratio! I used cheap organza bags ($2 for 5 from the dollar store) as my confetti holders, but you could use cello bags or the favor containers here! Wedding Tutorials Day 2 – Flowers

Hi Everyone Today I will show you how to make the Rolled Flowers decorating the Placecards shown yesterday, plus some other flowers for decoration Rolled Flowers These flowers look stunning and are very easy to make – see below. Cut a spiral of paper. You can do this using a die cutting machine or you can simply draw a spiral shape directly onto the paper (See note below) Working from the outside in, wrap the paper around a wooden skewer Be sure to keep the inside edge neat. Once you reach the centre, slide the flower off the skewer Place a blob of hot glue or other strong adhesive on the base as shown. Press the Flower into glue and hold until firm (one reason for using hot glue is that this will take about 5 seconds!) These flowers can be used on all your decorations or scattered on your table Note: These flowers are made using the Nantucket Collection from Pink Paislee. I cut the spirals using a Cuttlebug machine and a die similar to this one here. Decorative Flowers  These flowers were created with the same Nantucket Collection and this time I used a Nantucket Chipboard Tile for the […]

Wedding Tutorials Day 1 – Placecards

Hi Everyone I had a wonderful response to my recent post where I shared some of the pieces I created for my sister’s wedding, and several people have asked how to make the items shown.  Be sure to also take a look at this post HERE which shows you how to make the paper flowers to decorate the placecards. Placecards If you are hosting a small, intimate or informal event, you can still offer some great little touches such as place cards and it is really easy to create these yourself with a few basic scrapbook supplies. Even at a very casual event, you might like to ensure your guests are seated as you would like – so placecards become necessity – they also make a lovely keepsake for guests to take home. These are easy to make – see the tutorial below.   Cut labels or plain squares from patterned scrapbook paper (see note below). Fold paper shapes in centre and crease well. Using double sided tape or an adhesive runner, attach your smaller piece to your larger piece, taking care they are centered Decorate as you wish. I have printed names onto clear labels and added some simple […]

Casual Summer Wedding Stationery w/ Pink Paislee

Hi Everyone Hope you have had a wonderful few days over Christmas. We had a very casual family wedding last week and I put together a few fun items for decoration. Placecards To create each card I cut two pieces of paper using Spellbinders, creased them in the middle and glued one on top of another. I printed names onto clear labels and added one of my rolled paper flowers (see below). Candy Favors I have made these many times before (I have a tutorial here if you would like to see how!) but they are so elegant and perfect for hiding a couple of after-dinner mints. Confetti Bags I collected all the paper scraps from the other items and punched butterflies using a small punch. I then punched the same shape from layers of baking paper to create confetti. (Note – 8 layers of baking paper at a time was perfect!) Flowers I also created some paper flowers for decoration. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of them after they were arranged as I was doing all the cooking for the reception and it was a little busy! Here are a couple of pictures of what was an absolutely […]
